Released as an import on June 17, 2016 by Sony Music, this is simply an excellent compilation of 70 songs on four (4) CD’s.  There are also similar stellar compilations albums featuring Ultimate Pop (featuring many of today’s music artists), Rock and Love songs mostly from the 1980’s and 1990’s, tunes for driving, greatest singers (Voices), dance hits, workout music (Fitness), coffeehouse music whenever you need a breather, and of course–4 CD’s featuring the greatest music from the decades of the 1960’s, 1980’s, and 1990’s.

Among the highlights:

Yo-Yo Ma teaming up with Rosa Passos on Track 7, Disk One

Also on Disk One is a future blog subject, Paula Morelenbaum which can be found on Track 9.  Tamba Trio’s version of the world famous “Mas Que Nada” resides on Track 14.

Disks two through four feature most of the recent and some veteran MPB’s–from the likes of Beth Carvalho, Flora Purim, Vanessa da Mata, and Gal Costa.

The final song is a lengthy number from Deodato.

Overall, unlike the three CD review that I did a while back–this compilation is a definite keeper.  I will return again next week with another cool CD album review featuring one of the legendary singers over a billion people saw during the night of the Opening Ceremony to the Rio 2016 Summer Olympics.

Hope to see you all then.
