In related note to 1980’s amFAR tribute album, Duran Duran to perform at Lollapalooza South America 2017

Fans of Bebel Gilberto, please take note:

The artist she pays tribute to will be performing in three different countries throughout the South American continent next spring.

According to a Stereogum article on September 29, the very popular heavy metal act in Metallica will be the headliners along with alternative rockers The Strokes and current favs with the Weeknd.  Also performing during all three shows will be xx (back for the first time playing live since 2013).  The other big-ticket acts playing for two consecutive weekends besides Duran Duran include the 1975, Tove Lo, Catfish and the Bottlemen, and Two Door Cinema Club.

Brazil’s shows will take place at Autódromo de Interlagos in São Paulo March 25 and 26, then Argentina follows up at Hippodromo de San Isidro in Buenos Aires on March 31 and April 1.  Chile’s O’Higgins Park in Santiago will do their shows April 1 and 2.

Here is a link to the concert posters for each country, plus a link for each site for those lucky fans wishing to purchase tickets (the Brazil link thankfully is listed first):

Lollapalooza 2017 South America Lineups

After reading the lineup for Brazil, yes–love me some Tegan and Sara.

But don’t worry, jazz fans–the MPB’s still hold a special place in my music heart.

I plan to profile another artist on Friday.  Enjoy the rest of your day.
